Teaching Reading

Reading is often tested rather than taught, which can lead to deficits in reading skills. However, thoughtful teaching of reading skills is essential, as effective reading is the foundation for the entire learning process. Students who can read fluently and expand their vocabulary understand texts better and link different skills together. This not only promotes learning in other subjects, but also strengthens their ability to process complex information and think critically. Targeted reading promotion in the classroom therefore makes a decisive contribution to better educational outcomes.
